For some reason, conditions present at certain localities in Barkley Sound and other west coast Vancouver Island inlets are conducive for extra large and spectacular formations of the hard “coral-like” species of bryozoans (BZ18–23). Locales such as Kyen Point remind a diver of tropical coral reefs—minus the warm water!
The following two species of flexible, branching bryozoans were encountered and photographed during preparation of this book but were not identified.
