Anglo-BC Packing Co

ANGLO-BC PACKING COMPANY owned SALMON CANNING operations on the FRASER R and up the coast. It was established in 1891 by the VANCOUVER financier Henry Ogle BELL-IRVING, who used British capital to buy several canneries. Within 2 years it was the largest producer of canned sockeye in the world. Three generations of Bell-Irvings led the company before it sold its assets and closed in 1969.
