CLOVERDALE PAINT INC, a SURREY-based family-owned business, is western Canada's leading paint retailer. The company began in 1946 when Hunter Vogel purchased control of a small, 6-employee operation. In 2005 Cloverdale Paint employed 600 people and operated 65 stores in western Canada and Washington state. Hunter Vogel was elected to the provincial legislature as a SOCIAL CREDIT MLA in 1962; at that time he turned over the company to his son Wink, who has managed it since then.
