McIntyre Bluff

McINTYRE BLUFF is a steep rock face rising 260 m above the valley floor at the south end of VASEUX LK just north of OLIVER in the OKANAGAN VALLEY. A prominent landmark, it was the site of a famous battle between OKANAGAN and SECWEPEMC (Shuswap) war parties in the days before white settlement. It is named after Peter McIntyre, an early settler who came to BC in 1862 with a party of OVERLANDERS.
