South Slocan

SOUTH SLOCAN is a small settlement 18 km west of NELSON on the north shore of the KOOTENAY R, 1 km from the first of the BONNINGTON FALLS dams. Originally known as Slocan Junction, it was the spot where the CPR's Slocan branch, built in 1897, joined the southern CPR mainline.
