Stave Lake


STAVE LAKE, 58.6 sq km, is a widening in the Stave R tucked in the mountains north of MISSION. The 27-km long lake, inaccessible by road, was created by construction of a HYDROELECTRIC dam at Stave Falls during 1908–21. It drains south via the river to the FRASER R at RUSKIN. Mt Judge Howay Provincial PARK (61.8 sq km) is at its north end.
