Deasy Island


Deasy Island (53˚40'00" 132˚20'45" Entrance to Juskatla Inlet, S side of Masset Inlet, Graham I, QCI). Thomas Deasy (1857–1936) was the son of Daniel Deasy (see Deasy Point), who came to BC in 1859 with the Royal Engineers. Thomas married Anne Elizabeth Smith (1862–1936) in Victoria in 1880 and for years was chief of the fire dept, first in Victoria and then in Nelson. In 1910, Deasy and his wife moved to Masset, where he became the Indian agent for the QCI.
