Denham Point


Denham Point (52˚57'00" 132˚21'00" S entrance to Moore Channel, NW side of Moresby I, QCI), Denham Shoals (52˚57'00" 132˚27'00" Off Denham Point). Annesley Turner Denham was a midshipman aboard HMS Thetis, under Capt Augustus Kuper, and served on the Pacific Station, 1851–53. The son of Adm Sir Henry Denham (see Denham It), he assisted George Moore, master of the Thetis, in his survey duties of this area by taking charge of one of the ship’s cutters.
