Jedediah Island


JEDEDIAH ISLAND, 2.6 sq km, lies in GEORGIA STRAIT between LASQUETI ISLAND and the south end of TEXADA ISLAND. Privately owned for many years, it was made available for sale by its last owners, Al and Mary Palmer, as a provincial PARK. In 1995 the BC government purchased the island, with substantial funds raised from private sources—including the estate of the environmentalist and MOUNTAINEER Dan CULVER—and designated it a MARINE PARK.
