PROVINCIAL PARTY was a short-lived political party launched in 1922 by an alliance of disaffected CONSERVATIVES who objected to the leadership of William BOWSER, and members of the UNITED FARMERS OF BC who wished to extend their movement into electoral politics. The driving force in the party was the VANCOUVER millionaire A.D. McRAE, who financed much of its activity and served as party president. It was agreed that a leader would be chosen later from among members elected to the legislature....
