ABBOTT, Henry Braithwaite, engineer, CPR executive (b 14 June 1829, Abbottsford, QC; d 13 Sept 1915, Vancouver). Trained as an engineer at McGill Univ, he became a senior manager for the CPR during construction of the transcontinental rwy. He was present at the Last Spike ceremony at CRAIGELLACHIE and was general superintendent of the CPR in BC from 1886 to 1897.
