ALEXANDER MACKENZIE HERITAGE TRAIL (the Grease Trail, est 1985) runs 420 km from the confluence of the FRASER and BLACKWATER (West Road) rivers between PRINCE GEORGE and QUESNEL to DEAN CHANNEL west of BELLA COOLA. The first heritage trail in BC, it follows part of the route traversed by Alexander MACKENZIE on his overland trek to the Pacific in 1793.
