ALLIFORD BAY, 12 km west of SANDSPIT, on the south shore of Skidegate Inlet in the QUEEN CHARLOTTE ISLANDS, was selected by Sir George Doughty, president of BC Fisheries Ltd, as the site of a "model cannery town" in 1911.
