ANDREWS, Sybil, artist (b 1898, Bury St Edmonds, England; d 21 Dec 1992, Victoria). After taking a correspondence course in art during WWI she studied formally at Heatherly's School of Fine Art. She then worked as a secretary at another art school in London, where she met Claude Flight, an instructor who encouraged her choice of the linocut print medium. Flight led a group of artists influenced by Futurism, a short-lived Italian movement that glorified war and machinery and emphasized speed...
