ARGENTA, Nancy, singer (b 17 Jan 1957, Nelson). Raised in the KOOTENAY, she is one of the world's leading sopranos specializing in baroque repertoire. She was born Nancy Herbison, but in her mid-20s she took the name of a KOOTENAY LK community to avoid being confused with another Canadian singer.
