AVALON DAIRY LTD began in 1906 when Jeremiah Crowley and his wife Maud arrived from Newfoundland and bought a farm in S VANCOUVER. Jeremiah (1875–1950) worked as an iron moulder and Maud (1876–1956) ran the farm and its growing herd until 1913, when the Crowleys turned to DAIRY FARMING full-time.
