BC CENTRE FOR DISEASE CONTROL is the centre of excellence for the prevention, detection and control of communicable disease in BC. It was originally known as Special Health and Treatment Services, but in 1955 the various service divisions operating in VANCOUVER were brought together under one roof, although they continued to operate independently.
