BC EXPRESS COMPANY, known as the "BX," at one time operated the longest stagecoach line in N America. Founded in 1862 as Barnard's Express and Stage Line by Francis J. BARNARD, the company hauled mail, passengers and freight along the CARIBOO WAGON ROAD between YALE and BARKERVILLE and eventually controlled most of the traffic between the coast and the CARIBOO.
