BC Heritage Rivers System

BC HERITAGE RIVERS SYSTEM was established in 1995 to identify BC RIVERS that are of particular natural, cultural or recreational significance, and to promote greater awareness and stewardship of provincial rivers. The selection process incorporated considerable public involvement and was overseen by the BC Heritage Rivers Board, an appointed volunteer advisory board under the aegis of BC Parks, which nominated rivers to the provincial government for designation.
