BAILEY, Byron "By," football player (b 12 Oct 1930, Omaha, NE; d 18 Jan 1998, Winfield). After graduating from Washington State Univ he began his FOOTBALL career as a professional in 1952 at fullback with the NFL Detroit Lions. The Lions won the league championship but he was traded to Green Bay for the next season. He came to Canada to join the BC LIONS for their inaugural season in 1954.
