Baker, Michael Conway

BAKER, Michael Conway, composer (b 13 Mar 1937, West Palm Beach, FL). The son of an American vaudeville comedian, he had an itinerant childhood in the US and Canada. He taught himself the basics of musical theory, then studied at the London College of Music, UBC and Western Washington State College. He has lived in VANCOUVER, his mother's hometown, since 1958, and he is a prolific composer. He has written symphonic works, film scores, ballets, chamber music and songs.
