Baynes, Robert Lambert

BAYNES, Robert Lambert, naval officer (b 1796, England; d 1869, England). The son of a commander in the Royal Navy, he entered the navy himself when he was 14 years old. After a distinguished career he became commander of the Pacific Station, based at Valparaiso, Chile.
