Bear Lake

BEAR LAKE, pop 227, 65 km north of PRINCE GEORGE on the HART HWY, developed around the site of the Polar Forest Industries SAWMILL, established in the early 1960s and sold to CANADIAN FOREST PRODUCTS in 1989. Crooked River Provincial Park, with its fine sandy beach on Bear Lk, is nearby (see PARKS, PROVINCIAL).
