BELL-IRVING, Duncan, businessman, military aviator (b 28 Aug 1894, Vancouver; d 24 Apr 1965, Vancouver). As a young man from a privileged family, straight out of boarding school, he enlisted in the Seaforth Highlanders when WWI began and was among the first contingent of Canadian troops to go overseas.
