BENNETT was the terminus of the CHILKOOT TRAIL at the south end of Bennett Lk, which straddles the BC–Yukon border in the far northwest corner of the province. Prospectors on their way to the Klondike goldfields during 1897–98 paused here to build boats to carry them the rest of the way to Dawson City (see GOLD RUSHES).
