BESSBOROUGH is a small farming district (see AGRICULTURE) 18 km west of DAWSON CREEK in the PEACE R region. Originally known as Willowbrook, it was renamed after a former gov gen of Canada when the post office was opened in 1935. The first homesteader was Joe Frederickson in 1928.
