BLACK, David Lambie "Davie," golfer (b 1883, Troon, Scotland; d 26 Mar 1974, Vancouver). He came to Canada in 1905 and became a fixture at VANCOUVER's old Shaughnessy GOLF course, where he acquired a reputation as one of the top professional golfers in Canadian history and one of the game's finest putters. He won the Canadian professional championship in 1913, 1919, 1920 and 1921, the Pacific North West Open in 1920 and 1922, the Washington State Open in 1924 and the BC Open in 1928 and 1929....
