Blaeberry River

BLAEBERRY RIVER, 60 km, is a swiftly flowing stream descending out of the ROCKY MTS from the vicinity of HOWSE PASS to join the COLUMBIA R 10 km north of GOLDEN. It was part of a well-used route across the Rockies pioneered by David THOMPSON in 1807. The name refers to the huckleberries found along the valley bottom.
