BLOEDEL, Julius Harold, pioneer lumberman (b Mar 1864, Fond du Lac, WI; d 20 Sept 1957, Seattle, WA). After graduating from the Univ of Michigan in the late 1880s he moved to Bellingham, WA, where he managed a sawmill, a mine and a bank. In 1898 he joined Peter Larson, a prominent railway contractor, and J.J. Donovan, an engineer, to form Lake Whatcom Logging Co, with Bloedel as manager.
