Bluebird


BLUEBIRD is a perching songbird, a member of the thrush family, about the size of a large SPARROW. It feeds on INSECTS and small fruit. The male has mainly blue plumage all over; the female tends to be more greyish in colour. Bluebirds nest in natural cavities and birdhouses. Of 3 Canadian species, 2 occur in BC.
