BOUNDARY FALLS was a COPPER mining community in the BOUNDARY DISTRICT, 18 km east of GRAND FORKS on the CPR. A hotel, store and post office were in place by 1895. The Montreal and Boston Copper Co built its Sunset SMELTER here in 1902, but ceased operations in 1908 for lack of ore.
