BOWERING, Marilyn, writer (b 13 Apr 1949, Winnipeg, MB). She grew up in VICTORIA and graduated with an MA from the Univ of Victoria in 1973, the same year that her first book of poetry, The Liberation of Newfoundland, appeared. Since then she has published steadily, her works including several more books of poetry, a story collection and 3 novels. Among the poetry collections are Grandfather Was A Soldier (1987) about the WWI combat experience, Autobiography (1996), which won the Pat LOWTHER...
