BOWSFIELD, Edward Oliver "Ted," baseball pitcher (b 10 Jan 1935, Vernon). One of BC's first major league BASEBALL players, he was recruited by the Boston Red Sox straight out of his PENTICTON high school. He signed a contract with the team in 1954 and played in the minor leagues before being called up to Boston in 1958.
