BROWN, R.A. "Volcanic," prospector (b 1849; d 1930, north of Pitt Lk). His prospecting career in the BOUNDARY DISTRICT began in 1891, when he staked a claim at Volcanic Mt north of GRAND FORKS. Shifting his attention westward to COPPER MT, he established the Sunset Mine with more success. When he sold his interest he was able to buy a mouthful of gold teeth.
