CAMBIE, Henry John, railway engineer (b 25 Oct 1836, Tipperary, Ireland; d 23 Apr 1928, Vancouver). He moved to Canada in 1852 and settled in Nova Scotia, where he studied engineering and became a railway builder. In 1874 he came to BC and was put in charge of surveying a route to the Pacific for the proposed CPR.
