CAMERON, Anne, writer (b 20 Aug 1938, Nanaimo; d 30 Nov 2022, Tahsis). Her first books and scripts, written under the name Cam Hubert, centred on aboriginal themes. Among them was her TV script Dreamspeaker, directed for the CBC by Claude Jutra, which won 7 film awards; it also won a first-novel award when it was published in book form in 1979. Cameron also wrote other film scripts, collections of FIRST NATIONS legends, poetry and fiction, including Daughters of Copper Woman (1980), The Journey...
