CAMERON, John "Cariboo," prospector (b 1 Sept 1820, Glengarry County, Upper Canada; d 7 Nov 1888, Barkerville). He came to BC to join the Cariboo GOLD RUSH in 1862. The discovery of gold on his claim at Williams Crk made him a rich man. When his wife died, Cameron decided to return her body to Ontario.
