CAMPAGNOLO, Iona, politician, lt gov 2001– 2007 (b 18 Oct 1932, Vancouver; d 4 April 2024). Raised in PRINCE RUPERT, she got her start in politics at the local level while working in BROADCASTING. She was chair of the Prince Rupert school board from 1966 to 1972, then a city alderman for a term before winning election as a Liberal MP in 1974. During 5 years in Ottawa as a member of Pierre Trudeau's government, she served as minister of state for fitness and amateur sport from 1976 to 1979....
