Caspaco

CASPACO, 18 km southeast of PRINCE RUPERT on the north shore of Inverness Passage at the mouth of the SKEENA R, was the site of the Cassiar Cannery, which operated from 1903 to 1983 and had the longest continuous existence of any cannery on the BC coast (see SALMON CANNING). The name is an abbreviation for Cassiar Packing Co.
