CHALMERS, Angela, runner (b 6 Sept 1963, Brandon, MB). The daughter of a Scottish father and Sioux mother, she moved with her family to NANAIMO and later to VICTORIA. She won a spot on the 1984 Canadian Olympic team and in 1990 won gold medals in the 3,000 m and 1,500 m at the Commonwealth Games. Her most celebrated accomplishment was winning a bronze medal for Canada in the 3,000 m at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.
