Chickadee


CHICKADEE is a small, plump, excitable bird with a short, strong bill and fluffy plumage. It nests in cavities in trees or stumps; one batch of up to 9 eggs hatches each year. Chickadees feed on INSECTS and seeds and often congregate in flocks of different species. In several areas of the south and central Interior, all 4 of BC's chickadee species may be found together.
