Chipmunk

CHIPMUNK is a tiny ground-dwelling RODENT belonging to the SQUIRREL family. Alert and quick-moving, chipmunks dart about with their bushy tails erect, scampering up trees but nesting in burrows in rockpiles or under root tangles or buildings. They have brown to red fur with 5 dark stripes down the back, and they seldom grow longer than 13 cm. These busy little creatures stock their food caches with seeds, nuts and fruit pits.
