CHOY, Wayson, writer, teacher (b 20 April 1939, Vancouver; d 27 April 2019, Toronto). He was raised in CHINATOWN in VANCOUVER and studied creative writing at UBC, then moved to Ontario and became a college English instructor. In 1996 he and Margaret Atwood shared Ontario's Trillium Award, she for her novel Alias Grace and he for his first book, also a novel, The Jade Peony.
