Coghill, Joy

COGHILL, Joy, actor, director (b 13 May 1926, Findlater, SK; d 20 Jan 2017, Vancouver). Born in Canada, she lived in Scotland until wartime conditions forced her return to Canada in 1941. She studied THEATRE at UBC after the war and received an MA in fine arts from Goodman Theatre in Chicago in 1951. Back in VANCOUVER, she joined Sydney RISK's EVERYMAN THEATRE as a director. When the company folded in 1953 she helped establish Holiday Theatre, Canada's first professional theatre for children....
