COPPER RIVER is a small rural LOGGING settlement and former riverboat landing on the south side of the SKEENA R southwest of the mouth of the Zymoetz R, 8 km east of TERRACE. It was named for the COPPER stains that colour the riverbed. A post office operated here from 1909 to 1956.
