COQUIHALLA TRAIL () was a route used by early ranchers to drive their cattle from the NICOLA Valley south to HOPE. Originally a packhorse trail, it was improved by the government in 1876 for use by cattle drivers. The COQUIHALLA HWY follows almost the same route between Hope and MERRITT.
