Crawley, Alan


CRAWLEY, Alan, lawyer, literary editor (b 23 Aug 1887, Coburg, ON; d 26 July 1975, Victoria). As a lawyer in Winnipeg he developed an interest in poetry, and in England during WWI he was a regular at Harold Munro's Poetry Bookshop, a popular meeting place for British writers. In Winnipeg after the war he attended writers' gatherings, reciting and discussing poetry. In 1933 he lost his sight to illness and the following year he moved to VICTORIA with his wife Jean.
