Creeper

CREEPER, brown (Certhia americana), is a small FOREST-dwelling bird, widely distributed and breeding throughout southern BC and distributed more sparsely in the north. Its small size (13 cm long) and brown-and-white-streaked plumage makes the creeper difficult to spot when it sits motionless on a tree trunk. When feeding, it creeps up a tree in a spiral pattern, using its stiff tail feathers for support while prying INSECTS and larvae from beneath the bark with its decurved bill.
