DEVERELL, William H., lawyer, writer (b 4 Mar 1937, Regina). He worked as a journalist in Montreal, VANCOUVER and Saskatoon, where he was an editor at the Star Phoenix newspaper while attending law school at the Univ of Saskatchewan. As a member of the BC, Alberta and Yukon bars he was involved in more than 1,000 criminal cases as defence counsel or prosecutor.
