Diamond, Charlotte

DIAMOND, Charlotte, musician (b 31 July 1945, Vancouver). She is one of the most popular children's performers in Canada. After graduating from UBC and Laval Univ, she taught junior high for 12 years before turning to music full-time. Her first album was 10 Carrot Diamond, produced independently with money she withdrew from her pension fund; it went gold and won a Juno Award. After that initial success she went on to make 9 more albums and 2 videos and to establish herself as a leading family...
